The Route - Day one - Land's End to Perranporth

I managed to avoid the A30 almost entirely, apart from the necessary bits down to Land's End, then back out again. The coastal route is much more pleasant, has some great views, and the wind should be behind you (or a little to the side) It's not so hilly to start with, just a little rolling again. It's quite easy to pick your way round the coast towns, via St Just, St Ives and St Agnes. If you start earlier than I did, you can make it as far as Padstow.

Route:

A30 from Land's End
Left on to B3306 towards St Just
Follow to St Ives
Through St Ives town, then A3074 towards Hayle
B3301 round coast to Portreath, then B3300
Back roads to St Agnes via Porthtowan
B3285 to Perranporth
YHA on clifftop overlooking beach
